Junior (First to Third Year) Athletes will take part in the Donegal Track and Field competition in Letterkenny on April 18th. Senior students will compete on April 26th.
CCBS Baby Boom!
Congratulations to Miss Garvey on the birth of her daughter, Catherine, and also to Mr and Mrs Conlon on the birth of their son, Donncha. Both mothers and babies are doing well, while Mr Conlon is looking a bit tired these days!
TY Work Experience
TYs spend the first week after the holidays on Work Experience. This is the second week of work experience for the students.
Operation Transformation
All First Years have now completed the first part of the Bleep Test, which measures their general fitness by testing the time it takes them to cover the distance between two ‘bleeps’. The results have been sent off after a 6-week training programme.

First Year Cinema Trip
Heads of First Year, Miss Carey and Mr Mc Glynn, are treating First Years with a trip to the cinema today, as a reward for all their hard work and excellent behaviour since the beginning of the year. The trip was postponed from Decemeber. The students will leave at 1 today to go to the Eclipse Cinema in Bundoran.
TYs had a Wicked time in London
All 31 TYs returned safe and sound from London on Saturday night after 3 days in the city. The trip was a great success, taking in Madam Tussaud’s, the musical ‘Wicked’, a day in Thorpe Park (Miss O’Malley’s personal highlight!), an evening shopping in the sophisticated Westfield shopping centre, a visit to Buckingham Palace, Westminster and Trafalagar Square, all finished off with a trip on the London Eye. Keep an eye on the TY board for some photos.
AG Science Trip to Ballyhaise
5th years visit Ballyhaise Agricultural College this week as part of the Agricultural Science course.
LC History Tour
Leaving Cert History students will travel to Derry tomorrow as part of their course. They will visit the Bogside museum, enjoy a guided tour of the Walls, visit the City Museum and have a little free time in the town.
TY Tour to London
Transition Year head off bright and early on Thursday morning (5am!) for London. During their trip they will visit Madam Tussauds, the Science Museum, Thorpe Park, The London Eye, enjoy a Bus tour of London’s most famous sites and doubtless develop some highly amusing cockney accents. The group will returnOlathe on Saturday night.
5th Year Talk
There will be a talk for parents of 5th Year students in the school on the evening of Wednesday March 21st. Kay Mitchell from Maynooth will present a talk on how to motivate students and guide them through their Leaving Cert years.
Second Year Girls are North West Regional Champions!!
Congratulations to the Second Year Girls Basketball team who defeated Ursuline, Sligo, 34-27, in the North West Regional Final today in a nailbiting match. This is a fantastic achievement for all the girls involved and their teachers, Miss Mc Grath and Miss O’Malley. The win secures their place in the All-Ireland playoffs which will be played in a number of locations on April 28th. The team are: Ava Duncan, Laoise O’Connor, Orla Gillespie, Rachel Oates, Emma Doogan, Katie Mc Cafferty, Aoife Mc Devitt, Dearbhaile Hoey, Cliodhna Kelly, Aoibhinn Mc Guckin, Sinead Keogh, Ruth Flood, Louise Mahon, Ailbhe Treanor, Ciarde Sheerin, Ayeisha Mc Laughlin, Aoife Bromley, Aoife Branley, Zara Walsh.
